Fraudulent Dog-Sitting Job Offer Reports & Reviews (1)

My daughter was sent an email that she thought was through her school connecting her with a person that was moving to our town and needed a dog sitter. After she responded to the email inquiring about the job, he said that he had been married for 25 yrs , was from a Christian family and had a kind dog that needed dog sitting. He said that he would send her a check so that she could buy groceries and help another person get his house ready for when he arrives. He said that she could then pay the other people that help out….he made it sound like she was being trustworthy, so he gave her more responsibility, seemed like she was taking on more house manager tasks. He sent her , via express mail, what was thought to be a real check and asked to to send a check to someone else and kept pestering her to write the other check. Thankfully she never did, as we started getting suspicious, and then the original check that he had sent to her did not go though and was blocked and frozen by the bank - thankfully before she had done anything else or sent anyone any money. He had seemed like a nice person, but was in fact a bad person trying to scam my daughter to get money.
