Type of a scam Online Purchase
My daughter found the website online. The website requested
my address, phone number and email address. Shortly after, I received a
call and was told the pomeranian I was interested in was for sale. The man on
the phone said he would send a live video of the dog to me the following day
and register the dog for delivery. The next day a video was sent through text.
A follow up text told me the cost of dog plus delivery service fee. I was asked
if i could use zelle for payment and take a picture of the transaction as
receipt. I called him directly explaining I didnt feel comfortable sending the
large sum of money through zelle. He agreed I could send a half installment and
pay balance when I received the dog. I sent him first installment.
Unfortunately, it was only then that I began research on his
website and asked to see another live picture of dog with his contact
information and my name in the picture. He said the dog was already been
delivered to transit. it was then that I asked to cancel purchase and send a
refund back through zelle. Instead, I recieved an email from the transit
company:
https://cityexpressdeliveryservice.com/
and a tracking number (see photo)
I texted back to shipping phone number 18565378323 and received response,
"We checked and it shows your pet is on its way, and
has been on board since 11:00am and delivery at your home will be at 7:00pm
today ." The dog was not delivered.
