I was changing my husband's mailing address from an old address on what I thought was the usps website. The change of address page has been set up to look like the official usps website form. Just as the usps does, for $1.05, the firm requires inputting your credit card information to verify identity. Assuming this was for $1.05, since nothing different was stated anywhere, I completed the transaction. After a few minutes I received an email from my bank about an $89.95 transaction.
$89.95 to change your address? Complete insanity! I received a "confirmation text" which I replied to, I then received a reply with the phone number above given for charge disputes. It was an automated system than runs through a whole spiel of nonsense they claim they'll do, along with changing your address, which is all things we can each do ourselves, for free. They try to get you to accept a 50% refund and keep the "services," when you don't accept that, they then make another offer for $19.95 and refund the rest. Finally, you choose a full refund and they cancel everything, including the address change (which I had already processed on the REAL usps website.
Be careful. This website pops up as the FIRST result when searching for mail address change. Do yourself a favor ... search "official usps address change form." I'm expecting my $89.95 refund within a few days. If it doesn't arrive, I will contact my bank. No where, not one time, does this website tell you they're going to charge you $89.95.

I used Google to search "USPS Change of Address." The first four links are ads and not the official USPS, but unfortunately, I did not notice that. I clicked the first link, filled out the information, and was charged $90 for my change of address. My bank tipped me off to the potential scam and gave me the customer service number to call (888-288-3644). They offered me a 50% discount, and when I expressed my dissatisfaction, they offered me a 75% discount. I said I was still not satisfied because I had no confidence they weren't going to steal or sell my information. The "sales associate" became worried I would dispute the charge with my bank, thus drawing attention to their scam. She gave me the full refund, and I subsequently locked my credit via Experian just in case.

same as everyone above. first link on google when I searched forwarding address, put in card info (as you do on the official USPS site) and was charged $80. CALL 720-282-0622 TO CANCEL! I called and it was an automated voice that just keeps talking, but if you yell CANCEL and REFUND and a few other choice words, they will cancel. I got my refund 10 minutes after the charge.

CHANGINGMYUSADDRESS $89.95
I paused my card, and my moms card saw it was fradulent and wouldnt process it. Im on hold with my bank hoping they will stop payment.

And I am reporting them.

I feel so stupid. I was neck deep in moving and stopped to get my forwarding address done online before I forgot. We all know moving is busy and stressful on its own, lets add in I happened to move on what felt like the hottest day of the year 90+ degrees outside. I'm six months pregnant AND I've been trying to deal with the loss of a close family member all at the same time. So to say my focus wasn't where it should have been while doing this would be an understatement. I was heavily distracted and was "got". I'm angry. I used google to search USPS address change. An official looking link came up and I clicked on it. At the top in red it read, "USPS Address Change". The rest of the site looked nearly identical to the USPS official address change that Im used to using. Ive done this online with USPS nearly every move however this time it's been a few years since I've even needed to use it. I knew that the regular USPS website charges your card for around $1 so it did not seem unusual to be asked for my card info. At that point, I saw no notification that I would be charged anything above the $1 I had expected to pay. If there was, it was hiding in the world's tiniest font. I could have missed this in my haste however, even in small font I generally notice hefty charge information. Fast forward two days and I now have a charge for US Mail Forward for $89.95. I may not get my money back as my bank says that I willingly entered my information into the system. They are filing a dispute based on misrepresentation but the way it sounded, it may be difficult to get my money back.

First link on google when I searched forwarding address, and claimed to be USPS. Put in card information and was charged $80 without my knowledge.
