Sent us a check for above and beyound the cost of refinishing a hardwood floor.
No contract signed and was told to deposit it imediately. After that, we were suposed to withdraw 5 thousand and give it to a so called electrician on the project. Thank God I was aware of these types of scams and distroyed the check after taking pictures and sending them to the authorities.

David Johnson called about some furniture I had listed on Craigslist. He agreed to buy it with out seeing it. He said he would send a cashiers check, but that it would be for the cost of the furniture plus the shipping costs. I was to use the extra to pay the shippers. The check arrived, but it was not a cashiers check but a check for a law firm. I called the firm and they had not issued the check. I looked at the return address, and it was Forecastle Logistics, which has a reported history of Scams. The phone numbers used were 315-795-8903 and 716-489-5413.

It's pretty textbook when it comes to my story versus everyone else's received a letter in check in the mail of the USPS claiming to be a customer service evaluation tool to purchase gift cards deposit the check in your account it also offers bonuses have done swiftly and then it wants pictures via the phone number provided. Check actually looks very legit even if you call the bank to verify the bank will verify the check as they did for me and I have a confirmation number but it is still fraudulent

Should I call some sort of authority my son received the same check and I knew right away there was something off about it. I spent the morning trying to track down the different addresses and places where it could have come from. If my son would have received it himself he may have just tried to cash it and could have gotten in trouble. Do you have any suggestions on who I can report this to or should I just rip it up and forget about it?

They sent me a check for $2500 and asked me to buy 4 American Express gift cards take pictures of the front and the back and keep them for future use. I went to the US bank the check was drawn on and was informed that the check was a fake. They sent this to the United States post office.

Received a check from this company for $2250 with instructions to deposit check and then buy $1850 of gift cards. It is supposedly from a Berry Foster. Phone number (978) 384-0853, email address [email protected], company name on letter Customer Service Analyst, Inc. Envelope had the return address of

I got a letter today via flat rate envelope with a check for $2500 in it. $400 for me and the rest to purchase gift cards from Walmart and EBay. Did not deposit check like they instructed me to do.Saw right away that it was a scam. Purchasing gifts cards was the first red flag. What kind of problem could a place of business have with gift cards? They wouldn’t have. This letter that I got stated that Walmart and EBay was having a problem with customers having a limit on the number of gift cards they could sell to one person

I received this letter via flat rate envelope in the mail. Stating to deposit the enclosed check of $1950 from BMO Harris Bank, remitted Pamela Powell, go to any of the stores that sell AMEX gift cards and use $1500 to purchase gift cards of any denominations. After the purchase remit all the required info via email as well as a picture of the cards with the peeled/scratched off area on the back of the card. Keep $400 and the other $50 will be used for the next assignment. I did not attempt to deposit the check or follow any other instructions.
