I was recently contacted by a gentleman claiming to be John Sullivan. He did not disclose that he was a debt collector and was attempting to be as vague as possible about the business he was calling from. He finally told me what the acronym fmr stood for at which point he began to harass me about my identity. I refused to answers his questions and hung on him. He called back and began to harass me, saying that I ne dedicated to be 'an upstanding citizen and stop trying to skirt away from my responsibilities'. I told him he could no longer contact me at my number as it is a business number. He immediately called my father and left a voice mail, again not disclosing who he was or who he worked for, only that he was trying to locate me for a serious matter. The following day he contacted my boyfriend's brother and left a threatening message of the same nature. After looking up the company on the ScamPulse.com website I realized they are not accredited and are breaking a number of laws even if they are legitimate.

Someone called and left a voice mail saying they were trying to locate me, that if this wasn't me and I know the whereabouts of the person to call back...a very scripted call.. She used my former married name which I've not had for years.

This Sarah woman didn't identify the company she was calling from so I called the number back ...

The company is identified in an automated recording ... I googled it and it's a Debt Recovery business in New York.

I'll be calling after hours to leave a message that they had better cease further phone calls or they'll be hearing from my Attorney.

"Hello this Sarah this message is regarding our location and tracing efforts for (person they are looking for) press zero now to speak with a representative or call 1-877-201-8568 it is important that we speak with you in regards to their whereabouts if we cannot verify this information through you allows us to contact all references on file if you were unable to provide any information please contact us regardless at 877-201-8568 thank you..."

they are calling anyone related by blood, or by marriage. I have tried calling them to get information on them and a physical address to write to them but they have not responded to my request and then use profanity towards me on the phone when I reach a person which makes me think they are scammers trying to scam money. I've tried finding them on the Internet but only find others getting the same calls.

Got a call today from a Betsy Boyd saying that I have breached a contract of a pay day loan(loan was supposed to be paid by a abusive ex boyfriend who knows if it was) from 2yrs ago I was told the loan was for 300$ but interest had made it 700$ that I had 3 options that I could pay 700$ settle out for 400$ or be arrested for fraud. I paid 25$ today but immediately called the bank and canceled card and reported it as stolen and fraud. They said my phone number was linked to my ssn number which is not true. My phone is in my husbands name we have only been married 1 month and I have not legally changed my name. This company prayed on a emotional 8months pregnant woman very upset that I let it happen

They contact your entire family as well as you several times a day for as long as they can from different numbers even when you have never given out family phone numbers. An automated system plays whether you answer your phone or not with the same message telling you they are trying to trace your whereabouts and locate you for money owed on a payday loan. They claim to be FMR and attempt to get you to answer a yes or no question like verifying your name or info but I did not answer any questions that involved a yes or no answer! They supposedly put me on there no call list when I refused to verify info and told them i knew they were a scam and that this was getting out of hand.

They call you asking for someone you are not, saying the person put you on their system as a reference, then try to get money out of you. They called my elderly mother, now they are calling me at least 6 times a day threatening to call police for money owed? Caller's name is Sarah Winters. When I confronted her, she yelled and cursed at me, then started calling ME! And now she has spread my cell phone to countless companies who are now calling me for things I never signed up for, obviously her. These people need to be stopped before they ruin someone's life. My mother is 92 and if I hadn't called, she would have given them her account info. Sarah had her terrified she had to pay or the police would arrest her.

Note: When I told my friend about this, she told me this same girl (Sarah Winters) from the same company but a different number called HER. She sounds nice on the phone until you tell them they are illegally calling, then she went on a rant. These are the numbers they call from;

This company called me saying they were calling to collect a debt from me that i had with a company called GTI HOLDINGS. they then went on to tell me that there was a loan took out and gave me my ss# and asked if that was mine and then gave a bunch of other info that was mine but didn't match up to the dates that they were giving me and said it happen. i have never took out a loan but the lady said she would put in a dispute and that she would be having GTI HOLDINGS contact me about the issue. this person at this phone number has all my personal information and i feel like my information has been stolen. when researching the company on your page it is a scam and this company has not been around in a while. please help me with my information being protected

This company has been calling me frequently for about two years now saying I have an outstanding payday loan debt. Every time they call it is for a different amount, they however will not send you any proof of this debt...they say it is to late and that if the debt is not settled I could be arrested at my home or job for the debt...This is a huge SCAM. No one has showed up yet..they even went to the extent of having someone else to call me private and threaten me with some bogus case number and explained that I had until 10 am to return the call or they would show up at my job to arrest me. With the amount of time they spend trying to scam people they could go out and get a real job and make their own money instead of trying to cheat hard working individuals out of theirs. May the Lord have Mercy!!!! Because they will reap what they sow...

recording, looking for person owning the phone line, scammers looking for personal info.

They have your contact list, and will call relatives looking for more info, without good reasoning, looking for you to pay $, with no info on debt, the police should shut this bad business down and arrest these crooks.

THEY ARE A SCAM!!! Do not answer their calls, do NOT send them any money (I didn't but just warning others) Do not believe their scare tactics, they can't do anything.

Let them know if they continue to call you and harass you as well as other family members they are calling that you will SUE them and continue to be firm about it.

I will be giving their information to my attorney next week when I speak with him :)

They continually call (automated) informing that they are looking for "name" & to call back. There has been a complaint filed against "name". They have called my brother, my mom & me multiple times. The one time I did talk to someone the lady got really ugly with me because I would not confirm my name, social, address, etc. I told her I was not going to give her any of my info. She said she would call the police on me & take me to court. I told her to do what she had to do, but I was not providing her any of that info & no one would file a complaint against me for any reason. I hung up. They stopped calling for a few months but now they are calling constantly & my family, too. total scam. Just want my personal info.

Keeps calling me and saying I owe for an online cash advance which was deposited into my bank account. I have never had any money deposited into my bank account from an online cash advance or any cash advance, payday loan etc.. I have bank statements going back 20 years that can prove it. I have explained this to them several times. These people are now calling my family and I need them to stop.

A man called my parents house twice and left messages that they were going to be pursuing this matter legally if I do not get ahold of them. I returned the call curious to of what they were referring to. The man asked my name, I gave it. He asked me to verify my last four digits of SS#, I did. He then proceeded to tell me I took a loan in the amount of $300 out like 5-6 years ago with a company called "Masa" (non-existent) and I had a breach in contract and Iowa laws are pretty strict on contracts. I explained he had the wrong person. He said well someone close to you prob stole your checks, they ended in ***. I said No, that would not of happened. I asked for the information to this company and I'll handle it. He said they don't have the information bc there is no need for them to contact further after they sold the account. I said well, sucks you don't have legitimate proof of any kind of transaction and in fact sir, I believe you are in a legal binding contract with me, so want to hand over all your information so I can process the payment? No, ma'am you have a good day, and good luck with you on this legal binding matter. YUP! Never ever would I go to a payday scam

This company calls claiming that they are needing to "locate or determine the whereabouts" of the individual they are calling. They state that they will call all references if they do not hear back from the individual they are seeking to speak with. When you call, they try to verify information, but I knew this was a scam when they started because no debt collection agency is going to call and threaten this and it is also not on my credit report therefore, it is not real.

I have been receiving calls from FMR Collections for quite some time now. I have reported them to the FTC, FBI and Internet Crime Complaint Center. My employer continues to receive harassing calls from this company for which I owe no money to. Nor do I owe any money to any payday loans. They call my niece, nephew and ex-husbands wife looking for me. They threaten them and me with law suites, but refuse to send any documentation of any such outstanding debts. Someone needs to stop these people and take them into court and put them all behind bars for identity theft.

Contacted me and said they were trying to track me down... Also called family members. Said I would be turned into authorities. They were collecting on a pay day loan debt from five years ago. I have no such thing. They say they are FMR and are very vague. This is a scam and I hope they are brought down!!!!!

This number called and left a message asking me to call back because they are trying to locate me. Then they called my sister in law and left a message looking for me. I called them back and they wanted me to verify the last 4 digits of my ss# . I told them no unless they tell me who they are. All I got out of them was they are called FMR amd someone has a claim against me. When I still refused the guy then proceeded to yell at me and then hung up. I did not get any other info from them.
