I placed my DOT application through the FMCSA and within 5 minutes of submitting the application, a woman called my personal cell-phone. She identified herself as Marie, an agent of the FMSCA. She explained to me that I needed to file a processing agent (BOC-3) with her for a one-time payment of $99. This was at 9:51pm ET. I attempted to verify that she was in fact an agent of the government, upon which she confirmed that she was and directed me to google search a fake FMCSA website. This website looks exactly the same as the real page, and she directed me to place my MC number in the search bar, which does not make sense as I would not have a MC number at this time. She then asked me again for my credit card number to pay the fee as "nothing else can be done" with my application until I pay the fee. This is the website she had me go to: http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_carrquery.prc_carrlist

The MC number she had me place in the search was 005502.
