This part of the scam is the delivery company promising to move a piano. They gave a delivery date of January 18, 2024 at 4pm, I paid them $780 via Zelle to a "cashier" named Sadie Morton - phone number 803.508.1729, registered as Trevron Washington. After two days, they asked if my money had been refunded and wanted me to send a bank snapshot (I did NOT), and then told me that there was an "interstate tax" based on the value (incorrectly quoted) to move it from California (not Southern VT to Northern VT as first advertised and what I paid for). I did not pay any additional fees, and wrote requesting my money back as I have not yet received the piano, nor heard anything from them, and it is now 10pm EST on Jan 19, 2024.

They apparently are in cahoots with people who list things on Facebook Marketplace - they had a fake listing, a fake reference number, pictures, and everything. It was totally believable...until it wasn't :(
