I prepaid for gas at the register (NOT the pump where your card gets authorized for more) and my total was a few pennies under $22.00. I got a receipt for the correct amount, pumped my gas and went to work. Lo and behold, I got a notification that I just spent $55.00 at the gas station. What?! If I pay for XX amount of gas, get a final receipt with the correct amount on it but then a full charge (not a pending auth) of $55.00 comes out of my account, something is going on there. Obviously, I'm not privy to their computer systems but I managed a hotel for many years and know all about the difference between a transaction and an authorization and if I had to say what happened, I think the cashier did something dishonest.

I called to report this to the manager and he wouldn't speak with me. The manager had another employee relay the 'authorization speech' to me (which I'm very familiar with, having given it more times than I can count) and when I told the employee that I knew the difference, the manager finally took the call. It's beside the point but horrible customer service from that point on. I would never go back here & I'd highly recommend that if you do shop here, keep a very close eye on your financial records!!!
