I applied for a Remote Customer Support Specialist at Florida Engineering & Development on 2/15/23. On 3/23/23 I received an Email from Danial Battan Hiring Manager asking if I was still interested in this position. I received a screening/interview questions to answer I was hired given an employment offer letter with company letterhead. I was told to sign the document and submit work identification so I emailed my SS card. I was given a list of supplies that I would need to start working. a check was made out to me so that I can pay the vendors when the supplies was delivered. I was told that the check will be emailed to me I can easily deposit in my app and that they would walk me through the process. they asked what financial institution I used. the check is for $4,980.00 and it came from Township of Cherry Hill in Cherry Hill, NJ. I called Florida engineering & development to speak with Daniel Battan I was told he is not the hiring manager and that he hadn't worked there in awhile. After explaining the reason for my call I was told that his email was hacked and they had received numerous complaints from other people that got scammed as well.
