On Friday, August 22' 2016 at 7:15 pm:
I received a call from my home phone number from the company named on this form.
The caller; Jordan, wanted to get into my computer so he could remotely plug in and "diagnose" my computer because, according to him, my computer was not updating some of "Microsoft" important upgrades.
Although, I knew immediately when he used "Microsoft" name that it was a scam, I continue so I could obtain as much information as possible from him.
I asked Jordan to tell me "how" he could see that my computer was not performing the task he was talking about?
Jordan's answer was: "We are able to see it all from "Fix My Computer Dude" company and that they were direct partners with Microsoft".
I asked Jordan, "which" server was he referring to exactly?
Jordan's answer was: from "Fix My Computer" and "Microsoft" server!
I told Jordan, that I would call him back once I am sitting in front of my computer. To complete the call, I told Jordan, in a "polite" manner, "thank you" and asked him for his telephone number?
Jordan's answer was: 1-888-342-4110.
CONCERNS:
Because I am suspecting that “Fix My Computer Dude” is performing "scams", I wanted to perform some research on their company name before I would take any actions.
My biggest concern with this kind of scam is not so much that, calling to receive “technical support” is illegal, it is the fact that they are using the name of legitimate organisation such as "Microsoft" name. And, It is about the fact of entering people's personal information stored in their computers (identity thief) and perform further illegal actions!
Therefore, I wish to report this organisation to the ScamPulse.com and hope that by doing it will bring on awareness to the public of the danger of accessing their personal information stored in their computer system. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** ** *** ***
