I have been applying to jobs in the South Bend area since about March so when I received an email from Acme Consulting about an employment opportunity I was ecstatic! The only problem was that I didn't apply there. The email had me sign up for a video interview slot which I did and I sent an email to the recruiter to confirm.

My redflags that this job was a scam was their lack of presence on linkedin, social media and their generic website. A marketing agency should have a very active presence. Then I found this yelp review that sealed the deal in convincing me to ignore all future forms of contact: https://www.yelp.com/biz/roked-south-bend

Claims to be purely performance based employment (commission only) but it is not, *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** and has a specific schedule of who gets promoted when, regardless of the performance of the office. ** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** Employees are required to sign an NDA (non disclose agreement) and threatened with lawsuits if talk about the business as if there is anything secret about selling Xfinity. *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** ***

I had a local number call me to offer an interview for a CSR job. I went to the interview where I found out it was actually a Marketing and Sales position and that out of 20 people 5 would be called back for a second interview and from there two people would get the job. I was called back and for the 5, then I was one of the two hired in including another young woman. After our first 3 hours of training we both had very bad vibes and left early that day. The next day I thought I would give the company another shot, as they told both of us we were welcome to come back. I arrived at the office and the main door was locked. I thought it was odd, so I called both HR reps, the "owner", and my trainer from the previous day. No one answered, no one called back. Desperate to keep a job, I emailed HR as well and did a "contact us" link on their website. After an hour of waiting and eventually giving up and going home, I got a phone call from an out of state number saying it was the "owner" I thought it was odd that he didnt contact me from the number I originally had for him. And he said he got a message from the HR rep saying I was outside. Why didnt she call me herself or come down to let me in? Meanwhile my fiance was very worried about the whole situation so he started researching the company. Finding a website that when clicking on a link it turned to Japanese and then a different website when clicking on a more info link turned into French. I was never told it was strictly comission or that the training process was not paid. I then contacted the woman I was hired in with to update her and compare stories. She said she was very uncomfortable and left as soon as she could because she was trying to get away even to go to the bathroom and they werent letting her, saying that she needed to finish her training for the day first. Very suspicious activity and creepy environment.

I’ve been contacted by Vanessa Alvarez before via Indeed.com. The first time, she posed as someone acting on behalf of a “Mr. Khan” for a company called Khannect Inc., a business which has now been reported and investigated by BBB. Now, she’s reached out to me on behalf of a company called “Five 7 Four”. It’s clever; 574 is the area code of my town in Northern Indiana. But after being sent an invitation for an interview, I was provided with the location of the business: 209 N Main Street, Suite 300. A simple google search showed that this was actually the location for another business. Oddly enough, what was a red flag for me was when “Vanessa” said that I’ve been put into “Mr. Khan’s calendar”. That name was familiar, and then I thought more about it and realized that the name Vanessa Alvarez is also a familiar name. In summary, the company Five 7 Four is none other than Khannect Inc, a scam/pyramid scheme. If anyone named Vannessa Alvarez, or Mr. Khan, is setting up an interview with you, please call the authorities. These people need to stop.
