I was targeted by a person I went to high school with that is supposedly making money through bitcoin mining with someone. I contacted the person and followed all the instructions. Bought bitcoin through CashApp, sent it to a bunch of letters (which that should have been a red flag), registered on their website, within the hour or so, I made profit. When I went to withdraw the funds, I needed a pin, the pin costs $350.00. I asked that it be taken out of the profits. I was told I could not. I needed to pay upfront. I said I did not have the money. I was pushed to borrow the money from someone. I asked the person who referred me and was ignored. I chatted with their "customer service" which would give me the runaround about paying the fee. There is where I knew I was being responded to by the same person I was dealing with. Luckily, I did not pay the so called "fee." I told the person thank you for the scam and it was a great lesson learned. The person responded to me with a templated answer.
