Consumer first received phone call from someone claiming to be the fire department asking for donations. They confirmed his name to make sure it belonged to the phone number they called, and once consumer told them his name, the call cut off. When consumer tried to call the number back, a recording came on that just said "goodbye" and hung up.

a call came in from what we thought was a local caller since we live in area code 919. He asked if ____ was her name and she said Yes, then he asked something else (Mom is 84 and can't remember) to which she responded YES again, then he hung up the phone. When we looked up the phone number it came up as a business that is no longer operating. Hopefully we will not be getting any unauthorized charges.
