Fidelity One Reports & Reviews (1)

- Tonawanda, NY, USA

I began receiving calls from this company from various different numbers. I began receiving voicemails stating "this is a documented attempt to reach you. We are willing to pursue this matter within the laws of your state. Please contact us regarding reference number" and then the call would disconnect. They left no number to call or a reference number. Every time I attempted to call the number back I received a disconnected message. At some point the message changed where they requested myself or my attorney to call. Finally one day I was able to answer the call when it came in. It was an auto message to call back. This time from an 800 number. I called back. I asked the representative why they were calling me. He proceeded to respond asking me if I was *** *** and continued to provide my full social security number. I asked why he would give me my social when I never said I was who they were looking for. This representative was very combative and rude from the beginning of the call and advised me this was a federally recorded line. I asked the name of the company, he refused to tell me and continued to ask if I was *** ***. I at this point was very well aware that this was not a legitimate collections agency. I asked that they do not call me again. This was on Feb 19th. Today is March 4th. I now receive another phone call from this company with the same auto message as before so I call back. I speak with Erica brown, I tell her I would like to speak with her supervisor. She puts me on the phone with Ashley Simmons. I ask her why am I still continuing to receive calls when on 02/19/20 I requested they do not call my phone. I let her know this is a violation of the TCPA. At this point out of curiosity I ask her the name of the company and she tells me they are Fidelity one. I ask what they are collecting on. She asks if I am *** I tell her yes and ask if she is going to o provide my full social just as the last person did and she says no but continues to give me the last 4 of my social and I confirm that's mine. She tells me it's a debt from Kay Jewelers. A debt I had 12 years ago which had a balance of around 76 dollars. I told her that I was not paying that since 5 years ago another agency called me in the same manor and told me they were garnishing my wages. Yes garnishing my wages for 76 dollars. And I wasn't paying it. I ask her what the balance is she then tells me my balance is $996. I told her absolutely not my balance and asked for the origination date. She could not provide me the origination date. I let her know that I would not be paying this balance with them and they could mark it as a refusal. I told her to cease contact with me and to not skip trace me to call me any further otherwise I would be getting in contact with an attorney. I have been in the collections business for 10 years now. This company has broken the law. I have never received a validation of debt notice from them. They only tell me the line is recorded on one occasion (02/19/20), therefore I don't even know if they are actually documenting their records factually. And based on the balance provided to me also adding their own fees or whatever to the balance more than 10x the original debt. Honestly it's a shame considering years ago I did want to pay that balance however that balance is no longer affecting my credit. It's also very disturbing that if they called any of my old numbers anyone who has those numbers could possibly have my full social security number.
