An individual named Benita Phillips (probably changing names on rotation) emailed, claiming that she had received my information via www.illinoisjoblink.com. I deleted her first email because it was titled "Job Offer". She sent a follow-up email emphasizing urgency and time-sensitiveness of the position opening. I gave it shot and replied agreeing to a phone interview. I was instructed to add her on my gmail contact list so that the interview could take place via Hangout. Once added, I messaged her asking if this would be a video/ audio call. Ms. Benita Phillips replied that this would be done through "chat". She added that the contents of our Hangout chat would be forwarded to the hiring manager - - to this, I asked for her /or the hiring manager's official work email signature and a link to its official job posting on company website and/ or Social. e.g. linkedin, company career page, google, etc. No response. No $$ lost. Not a word from her after these questions.

To job seekers: Looking back, I think her poor grammar was the first & the biggest hint. Am aware that some HR managers (or anyone) can make typos especially while on mobile, commuting, etc. However, based on my experience I believe there's a sense of consistency in general HR's writing style; I won't detail this as a scammer may refer to my examples as his/ her future guideline. You need to go with your gut feeling... which won't be a good feeling but will save you time by avoiding garbage conversations. Given how desperate one can get while job searching: When there's a doubt, there is no doubt.
