The fake buyer asked, through Facebook messenger, to send me money ($200) via Zelle. I don’t have Zelle. The fake buyer requested I get Zelle for this transaction and I did. Then the fake buyer asked for my email address, which I gave. He then sent me an email that looked like it was from Zelle saying I needed a larger transaction amount ($500) for Zelle to qualify me as a business. Then the fake buyer said he would send me $500 and I had to promise to send him $309 back. At this point, it seemed like a scam to me. I asked the buyer what part of town he was from, and his answer was reasonable. Then I said I was not going to promise to send him money and that he could give me cash at the time of purchase. He then tried to pressure me by saying he had already sent me the $200 and he couldn’t get it back. I knew this was false and it was another red flag. I told “Felix” the fake buyer that he was conducting a scam tactic and he quit communicating with me.
