Federated Mint Reports & Reviews (1)

Gold bar scam. An advertisement from a group called the Federated Mint claiming that the federal government has just made a large number of Jumbo Gold bars available for the state of Illinois. The bars are not from the U.S. government. Received a letter in the mail in an envelope marked as "Urgent Mail: Response Required, Open Immediately". The envelope said that there is a USPS deadline, and has a return address listed as Mary Ellen Withrow, 40th Treasurer Emeritus of the United States of America. Includes a fake article from USA Today that's actually a paid advertisement that ran with the newspaper. Says the bars can only be claimed before March 12th.

Phone number listed as 1800-864-1444.
