Federal Reserve System Reports & Reviews (7)

I was contacted twice on my brand new telephone number. Since I don't have this telephone number published anywhere, AND I put it on the Do Not Call registry immediately, I was apprehensive that this might be a scam.

The first time I was contacted from (270)333-8711 on June 21st at 2:48pm, and when I began questioning the man, he became slightly irritated and defensive. I told him that this sounded weird and that I was going to check with my father who formerly ran the state police. He said, "Do whatever you want!" and then hung up on me.

The second time I was contacted was from (270)944-3136 on June 22nd at 3:03pm. As soon as I got a person, (which sounded exactly like the previous guy I got yesterday), I asked from which agency he was calling. He said the Federal Reserve Agency. I said, "Ok, let me open up my handy dandy Google and look you guys up". He immediately hung up on me. It was at this point that I began this report to the BBB.

A computer voice said that I had fraudulent activity on my bank account and I needed to press 1 to avoid being arrested.

I got a call from someone saying that I had a warrant for my arrest and I had 18 bank accounts open. They asked me what my local police phone number was and then put me on hold and called me from that number.

This number, 512-563-4473, keeps calling and asking me to press 1, stating that there is a lawsuit and suspicious activity with my bank account that involves a legal case. They then want me to press one to confirm bank information. I did not press anything other than end call and have blocked the number. The automated voice being used is saying that it is representing someone from "federal reserve systems" Completely fake and not what a company does. I tried to call the number back and it goes to a personal voice mail it sounds like.

- Abilene, TX, USA

Received a message from someone claiming to be with the Federal Reserve "System's" Crime Investigations.

Guy said that I had several bank accounts associated with me that had sent around $80,000 to Columbia and that a warrant for my arrest had been sent to local law enforcement. I said I would call law enforcement and verify and call him back.

I received a call from the same male caller on three different occasions, from two different phone numbers, over the last seven days. Non-English speaking caller states that he is with the Federal Reserve System. Caller states that there have been fraudulent banking business on my account and that there is a warrant out for my arrest. When I asked to speak to his manager/boss, he argues saying that he can help me. During todays call, he shared that his boss is Donald Trump and that I should contact Donald Trump if I have questions he cannot answer. When I continued to ask questions, he hung up on me.

The dates and phone numbers used are below:

10/1/2020 ************ 10/2/2020 ************ 10/5/2020 ************ I did contact the sheriffs department, and there is no warrant out for my arrest.
