I was contacted by FDPS back in May about a federal loan program that could consolidate all my loans into one payment and they would prepare everything for a fee. I asked what I thought was enough questions but clearly not enough. I was told that the payments would be monthly of $300 for 6 months. I began my payments and then nothing happened for about 2 months. Finally I was contacted again and advised that the documents I sent over were received but never processed so I had to submit new forms. Looking back this all makes sense as my “advisor” told me if I had questions to only contact him and was quite adamant I do so. After about 4 months of nothing happening I received a call and was told that they received my documents but for whatever reason it didn’t get processed. After missing other red flags this one stuck out to me. I also got an email from my original loan holder that warned of scammers like this and knew what had happened. Be aware!!! The payments they required were not easy for my family to make and now I’m out $1200.
