My husband and I applied for our DOT number on 6/7/22. At 7:30 a.m. the next morning, we get a phone call from an "Adam Weinert" posing as an agent from fmcsa.dot.gov regarding our online application. He said "we received your online application from the DOT and need to go over it with you to make sure you get a "legitimate" number for your business. We asked if he was calling from DOT, in which his reply was yes". He tried to hurry my husband into going over his application and repeated our DOT number as if he was legit. I immediately told my husband to not answer any of his questions because we were forewarned that these types of scammers would call. Mr. "Weinert" assured us that he was not a scammer and was from the "department". When asked "how much his service would be", he quickly answered "we'll get to that later". When he said that, I knew he was surely a scammer. At the end of the application it clearly tells us that scammers will call and email trying to offer their services for a fee. We were warned that the DOT will NEVER call using these methods and charging fees. They seem to use fear tactics as if something is wrong with your application and that the DOT can not legitimately issue you a number and that only they can legitimately get your business on the road and pass all requirements. DO NOT FALL FOR THE OKIEDOKE people! First of all, no legitimate business will call and wake you up at 7:30 a.m. with "fast talking high pressure tactics". He gave us his phone number to check them out. It's 1-877-659-9442 ext 2260. I immediately went to the ScamPulse.com website and found several complaints against them, then I blocked their number. DO NOT TALK TO THEM OR GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFO. I hope this helps someone to not get scammed and get their hard earned money taken from them.
