Steven, the verification officer, from Federal Brands Department called (from a local number in my area) and told me that I was chosen to receive a free government grant of $9000.00 and he wanted my checking or savings account information. After I told him that I didn't have one, he told me that I could get a western union, Walgreens or Walmart gift card to receive this money from. I asked him if the government can send me a paper check. He didn't know what I was talking about? He gave me a verification code (JP101) and a call back number to use for the money transaction. He didn't like the fact that I didn't work and kept asking questions that he couldn't answer. He had my name correct but my zip code was wrong. I wish there was a way to block these scammer calls. In the background of the call center, I could hear other operators and could hardly understand his broken English. If the government was going to give me money, they would mail me a paper check. He tried to get my age but I wasn't about to give it out. Was feeling really uncomfortable. So I started drilling him with more questions. He gave me the call back number and I looked the ScamPulse.com Up to report this guy. I don't want to see some older person fall for this crappy scam and give them their bank account numbers.
