I received a call on 04/07/2020 from a lady who introduced her self as Rose from Debt Relief, Student Aid, She knew all of my current information including my ss#, dob, phone# , and address, She told me I owed $34,969.57 in student loans from BC College, and $25,872 and that they were willing to settle by defaulted loan if I would give them $9.066.21 for the 1st loan and make monthly payment of 25.00 for the 2nd loan that they would wipe all of my student debt out and I would never half to pay on student loans again inless I went back to school, She asked how I would like to take care of that visa, check, or credit card. I told her that I was unable to pay at this time because of the Covid 19 that I had been displaced. She gave me an acct # of 0010339016547 I asked her about her phone number coming up as a Spam Call and she said that all 800 numbers come up like that on cell phones now, Which maybe they do I have no idea if that is true or not, I told her I was not comfortable about giving my information over the phone and asked if there was a website where I could make the payments so she gave me a website of FAMSPAYONLINE.NET well that was my 2nd thought of Fraud, (. NET) So I told her yea sure I will make a payment later on that evening and I hung up! then today 04/08/2020 I received another call from a different number and they left a voicemail so I called them back today after I called The Department of Education. The 1st lady hung up on me! Then I called back spoke to a gentleman and he said there was no Rose that worked in the office but he could help me, I told him I thought it was a fraud call because the Department of Education told me that there is no call collections allowed during the Covid 19 virus. So they are using 1-800-399-6505 1-866-330-2703 Also while I am writing this to you guys they called me again this time her name was Idea said she is from Financial Aide Debt Consolidation and when I told her she is not allowed to call she started to argue with me, These people are taking advantage of so many people during this covid 19 I hope you guys will actually investigate and get these people from frauding others
