I received a call from Wayne Criner, telling me that he was reaching out about a recent inquiry about consolidating student loans. He told me that he could look into either loan forgiveness or lower payments, to which I obliged. He took my name and information, including my social security number to look up my loan information. He was able to tell me about my federal loans, and told me that since I'm currently unemployed, that I would qualify for a complete loan forgiveness. He told me that I would just have to get approved and they could lower my payment to $0/month. He told me that I would need to make only 3 payments to them for $133/months to establish this opportunity, and we scheduled the first payment for 1/26/2017. He had me hold the line for approval, and told me that Mohela (my student loan organization) would give me a call to let me know that everything had processed. I received 2 calls while I was on hold, and I later listened to the voicemails, which said that it was in fact Mohela calling to congratulate me on the consolidated loans. I called Mohela the following day (1/13/17) to inquire about the validity of the transaction, and they told me that no one had attempted to contact me from Mohela. I discussed this with them and immediately tried to call back fed-help.org to cancel the agreement and payment. I was told that the person responsible for that was not available and that they would call me back. Needless to say that person, or anyone else for that matter has not contacted me. I reached out again today and was given the same response, and put on hold for about 15 minutes. I have still not received correspondence and attempted to reach out to Wayne directly at the number he provided.
