I received a phone call offering to help with SAM registration renewal. I assumed it was a government agency, and gave them some information about the business before they mentioned a fee. That made me suspicious, since there had never been a fee for my previous registration or renewals. However, before I ended the phone call, I had given them credit card information.

Hi these people keep contacting me about 8 or 9 times a day from multiple numbers and unknown numbers about a debt that occurred in 1996 and has been closed for over 15 years within my credit. I have not done any business with a CIBC in over 20 years and this debt has been paid in full and they are now trying to recollect a debt that has been paid.
