Purchased firearm online from website "Armory Home" allegedly based in San Angelo, TX. When item was paid for, fake website emailed me with a shipping company for the delivery "Fast Universal Carriers" with an alleged tracking number for the shipment. When the item didn't arrive, I checked the tracking number and located a message on it stating that the item had been shipped to my state, but was "on hold" and wouldn't be forwarded to the receiver until I sent them $320 dollars to insure the item, but that the $320 would be fully refunded after delivery. From past online purchases, I knew there was no requirement for insurance, so I contacted both the alleged gun sales website and the shipping company and told them I was not going to pay the insurance and for them to figure it out. I told them to resolve it or refund the $650 I had already sent to the gun website. There were a number of emails that went back and forth form both websites encouraging me to pay the fully refundable insurance amount so that my item could be delivered. I refused to do so and did some computer scans and determined this was a fraud. Contacting the real gun shop in San Angelo (Texas Gun Shop) I was told they were not affiliated with Armory Home and had been victims of several scams using their address. I contacted the real shipping companies Universal Freight in Doral, FL and Texas International Freight in Houston, TX and confirmed they were not affiliated with a Universal Carriers or Fast Universal Carriers. I directed them to the alleged Universal Carriers website which they confirmed was fake.
