I went online and saw a puppy on this “secured” website. The man told me that his wife is giving birth so they aren’t going to be breeding dogs for a while and that these puppies they want to get rid of so they are 50% off. He then emailed me the facts about the puppies and texted me. I asked him if he had references of other people who have purchased with him and he instantly sent me a name and number of someone who purchased from him the day before. I spoke with the man and he sent me pictures of his wife holding the puppies. I then paid him $750 for the dog on top of the $150 fee because the dog would be flying from USA to Canada. Everything went smoothly and he sent me everything I asked for (pictures and videos of the puppy, references). The next day he continued to message me about how he was driving to the airport. He told me he was sending it though global shippers and the airport will contact me with the details. I got an email from “global shippers” stating the tracking number and the link to the website. This website however wasn’t secured. I was able to put in the tracking number and when I did, there was the information of the sender, received, weight of the dog, breed of dog, flight number, departure time, and arriving times. Everything seemed very legitimate. And then it turned for the worst. This shipping company sent me an email that the dog wouldn’t be shipped until I sent the “insurance fee” which was $1515 USD. They wanted the money sent through e transfer to [email protected]. That’s when I started having high suspicions because no airline would ask for that money through e transfer to a gmail account. The breeder never mentioned either about this insurance fee that is refundable when we get the dog. We called the breeder and he kept saying it was legitimate and than we said he can pay this money because it is refundable and he said that “he couldn’t afford it”. After we called him a scam he hung up on us and his voice became out of service.

The man running this account, we believe his name is PAUL MORITZ first contacted me through email and then sent me a text message. The dog was $750 plus $150 for shipping the dog from USA to Canada. Before I purchased the dog I asked if he could send me videos and pictures of the dog which he did. Afterwards I asked for a reference of someone who has purchased from him before and he sent me a contact number from someone who purchased from him the day before. He immediately sent a number and name of this man. I spoke with him on the phone and he then sent me a message of his wife holding their new puppy. I then sent him the money and the next day he messaged me telling me he was "on his way to the airport." He told me that after he dropped off the puppy that the airport would contact me. I asked him what airport he went to and he only told me he went through "global shippers." Global shippers sent me an email with a website link and a tracking number where I could track the flight of the puppy. A few minutes later global shippers ask me to pay an insurance fee of $1515 USD that I would be refunded when I received my puppy. They asked me to pay through e transfer and send it to [email protected]. I refused and called the man and told him he pays for it because I never heard of this fee earlier. He told me that he "could not afford it." I told him that he was a scam and I wanted a refund and he hung up on me and his voice was instantly out of service. The shipping company also threatened me that if I did not pay this fee that I would be charged and brought to court for abandoning an animal.
