Fake Small Business Loan Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Bethesda, MD, USA • Apr 17, 2024

Someone called KT Tyler ([email protected] and 443-723-5855) referred us to Karen Jackson of "Iconic Funding", who is the person who emailed us from [email protected] after a phone conversation where both she and KT encouraged my small business partner and I that we were eligible for unsecured funding through their loan program. They said our credit was borderline, so they had a plan that took "less than 30 days" to fix our credit and cost $1000 each. We had been rejected from many banks in pursuit of small business loans, so this was a chance for us to make our dreams come true. We paid $1,000 each through CashApp. We were put in touch with a "credit counselor" by the name of Carla at [email protected] who put us through 5 months of calls "coaching" us (when she decided to actually show up for scheduled meetings) to dispute the credit bureaus by submitting hand written documents through USPS (costing quite a bit of additional money to overnight + require signature). All of them had intimate knowledge of our finances and personal identification numbers. Throughout the process when trying to reach Karen or KT, we were ignored - the only time I ever heard from KT again was by accident - he called me clearly thinking I was someone else and was caught off guard when I demanded to know what was going on. Eventually, we realized we had been scammed and emailed all of the email addresses we had and told them we wanted our money returned. That was a month ago and we haven't heard a word. Below is all the other email addresses and phone numbers we were communicated from by these people, but if you do a quick Google search you'll find her LinkedIn profile, Facebook profile, and info scattered across the internet - just no business address. [email protected], 307-224-1522, [email protected], and https://www.thefundingshark.com/ which of course no longer exists, but was the name of the program we were in - "The Funding Shark"
