I received a text this morning about a rental house I inquired about. Someone with the name of James Good sent me an email of the rental application. I sent it in via email, and then he said there would be a $75 application fee for each adult. He asked if I could pay through Zelle, PayPal, or Apple Pay. I tried PayPal and it declined 4 times, I thought it was because I never use it and I was in a location with bad signal. He sent me an email to send the $150 to for the application fee, which was paid via Apple Pay. The email he had me send the money to was [email protected]. The original email that was used to send me the application form was [email protected]. The original number used to contact me from the very beginning was 405-413-8205. I found the listing for $1700 on rentals.com at the beginning of the week. I later found the same house on Zillow for $2145, and it had an actual management company listed, which I contacted about this situation and they confirmed it was a scam, because they would never ask for payment that way and everything is handled directly through their website.
