I received an email stating that I owed a debt back in October 2019. The name of the company is Leranda Collections LLC. I was skeptical about this since I have been in Chapter 13 bankruptcy since August 2018. I knew better not to get money from a lender without permission from my bankruptcy lawyer, so I asked for proof of this debt. The Excel file they provided had my name, address, work email, SSN, phone number, and phone number of my family members. Some of which are deceased. I talked it over with my lawyer and they say it would be a good idea to report the situation.

I was told that scotiabank has put me in collections. I checked my bank and I am not in arrears or owing .
