I was looking for labrador retriever puppies and came across a website called Fahey's Labradors. I contacted them via their website using Google forms. A few days later they responded via text and email. I communicated with them primarily through email and they asked me to send money to secure the dog I wanted and to initiate shipment. They asked for a total of $700 to be paid via Zelle. Fortunately, Zelle would not load in my banking app and I was unable to send the money. I notified the seller via email and they then asked me to purchase two Visa gift cards; one for $500 and one for $200 and take photos of them to confirm my purchase of the dog. This seemed highly suspicious and I let them know I would not be doing that. I did not hear back once I let them know I was not going to purchase the puppy. I did some research and found similar scams and am making a formal complaint to warn others to be careful. Luckily, I did not lose money, but came very close.
