My boyfriend tried to buy a jeep part from this place on Facebook via messenger. He was told that it’s going to be $100 with shipping and that he should send the money through PayPal using friends and family. We’re not familiar with PayPal transactions so he agreed and since I have PayPal, I did the transaction for him. The transaction added a $4.99 fee, total was $104.99. When I sent the $100 to the email, it populated under a Van Nguyen name. All of a sudden the “merchant” asked for another $100 for shipment and my boyfriend said he wanted a refund instead because the merchant previously said shipping was included. This merchant did not even attempt to help us, he just kept saying to send the money for shipment and to follow instructions. He also provided another email to send the other $100 shipment fee. We did not send anymore money since there was just red flags after red flags. I tried to report this merchant on Facebook and PayPal and both closed the case. PayPal stated that if using family and friends transaction, you can’t claim anything. I’m afraid this will continue and other people will fall victim to this so called business and they certainly needs to be stopped asap.
