Facebook Imposter Scam Reports & Reviews (2)

They told me that my Facebook account and phone had been hacked and that the hackers had my bank information and they told me that my phone was compromised and my personal identity was stolen and people were using it to sell sex toys on my Facebook account they also asked how much money was in my account and asked me to pull up any bank account information on my phone to make sure my money was still there they kept calling me ma'am and that was annoying. They posed as Facebook support this is a scam I called back and they had no record of me calling the first time they tried to steal money from me

I googled a Facebook customer service number to speak to a live representative. I clicked on a website with an 888 number and called it. A man with a foreign accent (possibly Indian) answered and said he was the head of the Facebook security team. I told him I was calling about a post I reported and if he could take it down or disabled the account of the person. He asked me for my name and that he'd look at my account. When I gave him that information, he said my account was compromised and that there is a bug on my computer stealing my info and a pending charge of a couple thousand dollars to my bank account. He told me to download the QuickSupport TeamViewer app so he can view my phone and take me through the steps how to get rid of the hacker. He told me to get on a pen and paper and write down his name, employee ID and a number to reach back in case we disconnect. He said his name was Ryan McCal, employee ID amz786 and to call 669 777 9148. He told me to log into my bank account so he can stop the transaction. He had me add a person named Marco Richardson to Zelle with a phone number of 410 458 7907 (originally I typed 7909 and it didn't work until he said the it was 7909). He told me to add a memo saying "cancel this transaction" and put $370.18. I started realizing that he was trying to get me to send the money to him, and it was a scam, not a cancellation, so I exited out of the app and hung up the phone. I quickly changed my bank password and email. I then went to my bank and changed the account number and username. The bank said they saw no pending charges transactions with him. The next day, I went back to the website which I saved to my favorites and it was gone. It said "404. That’s an error. The requested URL was not found on this server."
