I tried to cancel my Facebook account. Then I saw my Facebook account was hacked. There is a picture of a Teletubby on it. I finally found a number for Facebook online. I called and spoke to an Indian man who was walking me through the steps. Then I got a scam warning message. So I hung up.

I received an email saying my facebook account had been hacked. When googled the customer service number for Facebook, I called the first number that came up as I was locked out of Facebook entirely and could not access a number through the site. The representative that answered claimed to be from Facebook and I explained my situation. He seemed like he knew what was going on. He informed me that I would need to buy an Itunes gift card from Amazon and provide him the code and the gift card would later be refunded (he said there was a code within the gift card that would remove the foreign IP address from my Facebook). Mind you, I asked multiple times why and he had a very convincing reason why the whole time. Turns out, when I started to cus at him about how I was mad and just wanted my account deleted, he hung up and would not answer again. I'm only out $50 and looking back at it, I know it sounds fishing but in the moment, the individual was very convincing and I wanted to easiest solution. DONT google facebook customer service! They are ALL scam numbers.

So my mother was trying to find help in preventing someone on Facebook from blackmailing her. So she decided to contact Facebook customer service. She found the number on Facebook and thought that it would be legit. Turns out it wasn't. So she ended up talking to them on the phone and at some point they asked my mom for her credit card info in order to buy software that would effectively prevent the man from blackmailing her. Eventually they made her install some software where they would be able to remotely control our computer. After some time they said that we should be getting a package delivered to our house. When we did get a package it was from Amazon and what was in it was gift cards for Amazon. They told her to read the codes on the back and put it on the computer so they could see it. What seemed so convincing was how nice they were acting. Later on we figured out it was a scam as 2 more deliveries were made to our house including those same gift cards. My mom son found out she overdraft in her bank account by 1000 dollars.

I am unable to access the facebook page I created yesterday (12/7/17) with a message appearing saying that my profile picture was "under review." I left it alone, and now today (12/8/17) when I tried to access the account again, I got the same message. I searched the internet trying to desperately find a legit facebook customer service number when I finally did and I spoke to someone who said they would transfer me to their tech department. Someone named Robert Craner answered and began to assist me. He said that he would link our computers and try to diagnose the problem from the inside out. I repeatedly told him that it was only a matter of approving my profile picture. He then decided to do some back-end work on my office computer which left my screen blank on my end. He said that it would only take a few minutes and it would be a quick fix. Almost half an hour later, the problem was not fixed, and then Robert began asking more intrusive quesitons like what the address of my home is. When I refused he continued to insist on me providing him with that information as a way to "protect" me from a possible hacker who was trying to access my account. I never gave him any personal information. He then said that his team was generating a code that would allow me access to my profile. He also said that it would take a few minutes. Several minutes later nothing changed. When I was finally ready to give up, he insisted that I wait for the code and that since it was such sensitive information, he would need to send a physical copy to my home. I insisted that he just send the code electronically to my email address, but Robert said that the "hackers" could potentially access that as well. Even after an hour, there is still no code produced and the problem is still the same. Robert then comes back on the line and says that if I want the code right now then I'll have to pay a $1.99 charge. When I declined he basically tried to upsell me insisting that the hackers could also access my personal facebook account, etc. I informed him that my personal account has completely different information attached and that it would be highly unlikely for that to occur. Robert kept insisting and finally, I said I don't care I just want to stop having this conversation. Before I let him off the hook, I asked him if he would send me the customer service survey. He responded like he'd never heard of it, and then said he would send it to me. I have never received that survey.

Fake facebook tech support. I tried to go around a fb name change by calling FB customer service. BIG mistake. They do a screenshare. Went into my paypal to purchased & copied a gift card code for $100. they tried small cc payments to "verify my identity" then continued to try 50&100 payments my banks stopped them.
