A person claiming to be Sharon Golden, a social security administrator and environmental program worker contacted my elderly mother on facebook claiming she could give her a government grant of $50,000 for her health. She asked her for a picture of driver license front and back, pictures of her debit card front and back, her facebook password, and her email password. She also requested her pin number of her debit card. My mother provided all of this information. I have been having to work today to cancel and protect my mother's identity. However there is no way to call or email Facebook to advise them what this person is doing to the elderly. I tried reporting her facebook profile, however it does not give you an option to tell why. I received an email back saying that this fake account is not violating any standards. Facebook is allowing these scammers to prey on elderly and still their life savings. This needs stopped as soon as possible. I had a heck of a time just getting my mother's facebook account secure as every time I changed the password, the scammer would change the password again and lock me out. It's insane there is no help for these instances. She hijacked her accounts, took her Id, and her banking information... and she's still on there doing it to others. I have my mothers facebook account resolved and canceled her debit card, however I don't know what else will come out of all the identity information she got out of my elderly mother. Please help stop this.
