I was quoted $775 by Ronnie of Expert Car Shipping, but upon delivery, my total cost was $1175. We paid a deposit to Ronny (of Expert Car Shipping) of $200 for auto transport from Washington State to San Diego, CA. I received the terms and conditions with a total price of $775. I made a deposit of $200, and he also said I could load up the car as full as possible with my moving contents. Upon picking up the car, his auto carrier added another $200 for the extra load in my car, no proof of weight from their scale, they anticipated this extra weight immediately as they picked up my car. I called Ronnie to try to resolve the issue, he claims it’s not a moving company and my limit was 100 lbs, and I reminded him what he said to me “load up the car”. The car was being delivered by I-5 Transport LLC (www.I-5autotrans.com, 425-268-0211). Upon delivery of the car, I received a text message from the delivery person with cell 858-382-0205. He indicated I owe him a full $775 plus $200 for weight and all in CASH or cashier’s check (what bank is open on Sunday as they were a day late in delivery). I made multiple attempts to Ronnie to resolve this matter and no response. I disagreed with the delivery person on the amount due, as I already paid Ronnie $200, but the delivery person said “that was your broker fee, you owe the full $775” plus $200 for extra weight. He threatened to impound my car and charge storage fees if I didn’t pay the full amount. Upon delivery, he gave me a paid receipt for $775 and when in fact I gave him cash for $975. I ask that you do not allow Ronnie to continue to do business and connect with other transport companies that scams the same way. Consumers don’t have a legal recourse to recover such small amounts, but someone like Ronnie ends in large profits. I am not sure how Ronnie can get away with this criminal act.
