Flight from California to New York

Went on google to get phone # for google to call about an error on flight to Sarasota 11/12 to 11/15 thought I was talking to airline, people with Indian Accent, told me they could correct it as my ticket was right but my brothers booked at same time was incorrect, so they would credit his part back but I had to pay the difference with google play for $200 & $ 100 as it was a special deal and it had to be done this way XEDXAMWD SWRUO1M6. And the other ONBL1FHGB6COP9UU, then I did that and all of a sudden they decided they had to credit everything and do another set of google play cards, I realized at that time it was a scam but they told me before to sit at pharmacy so they could pull $ from cards, which I had done. Then I called 4 other phone #s listed on YGoogle and got Indian people I Tried to explain too and got hung up on. I am 66 and this is a big Loss as I was Trying to go to see a Dying Uncle in Fla. Please help catch these people, I feel stupid I feel for it. Cannot get a person at Google play to try to get help from them . ***-***-**** C**************[email protected]

I used Google and typed in the search engine "Expedia phone number" and the first prominent number to pop-up, with a link to Expedia's website, was (877) 227-7481. My father called that number in order to fix some motel reservation issues and they told him that they could get him 2 rooms for the night for only $100 dollars if he purchased a Google Plus gift card. A person by the name of Jennifer said that they were having some kind of promotional deal with Google Plus. (This was before we knew that you can only purchase stuff from Google Plus with a Google Plus Card). My father, being an older man, didn't know and he purchased the card and gave her the access code to the funds of the card. She then told him that there were no funds in the card and only then did my father know it was a scam. He asked to speak to her manager and then a lady by the name of Amy told him that it wasn't a scam and asked him to purchase another card. They scammed him and took 100$ from him.

On July 13, 2019 I had a reservation through expedia.com. Our stay was to be in Daphne Al, and we were in Foley Al. During the locating process we didn't realize how far the reservation was from our destination. Once realized, I called the hotel who told me to reach Expedia. We did through their website, or so we thought. There was a scam number apparently attached. The reps asked for my itinerary, verified my information and directed me the process to which I could get my room transferred. I had to go purchases google play or ebay cards. I thought this to be odd but they assured me a refund would be issued to me immediately after the process was complete. I spent $375 through which now is a fraud number. I only cooperated because they even had access to my debit card information. I began to realize something was wrong and began to chat with their customer service who told me this was not their process. I called expedia again to get representatives who told me they were aware of the scams, gave me an email address to report my issue to but could not assist me to get my money back. How can a company know this is on their website and not fix it. They had me on the phone for over 2 hours. I am out of almost $400 because I trusted this company's promise to me.

I called 1-877-979-3588 on June 28, 2019 regarding possibly cancelling this reservation. When the customer service rep told me it was non refundable I told him I would keep it and then he abruptly hung up on me. About an hour later I checked my phone while I was out to lunch and I had an email that my reservation was cancelled. I called the hotel to confirm and it was. I called 1-843-875-3300 and spoke with Shawn. I told him that my reservation was cancelled without my permission. He said to get a refund I had to go to the local supermarket and get Google play cards. He called me back when I was in the store and told me to buy 3 $50 cards and then give him the pin numbers on the back. I did. I felt like I was being scammed. He put me on hold while he had the cards validated. I spoke to the person who was to validate the cards, he had a problem and wanted me to go to ANOTHER supermarket and get card that could be loaded $25-$200. I refused because I had already jumped through hoops to try and get a refund and he wanted me to do more. Remember all of this is not because of anything I did. After asking him several times he finally agreed to let me talk to his manager. I was on hold for almost an hour, I hung up and called back at the 1-215-240-6104 number and Kevin the floor manager answered. He said there was a glitch with validating the Google Play cards and connected me with Google to get a refund, which I did get one. Kevin then wanted me to get another Play card because my account was red flagged and that's the only way to give me a refund. I told him no, I've done enough and would find another way to get a refund. So here I am. My account was red flagged because of Expedia's mistake. I have a credit score of almost 800 so I don't have a credit issue. I don't understand why I can't get a refund put on my credit card for something that wasn't my fault. I booked a stay at the golden nugget in lake charles la . I was unable to keep my reservations because I was informed that It was mandatory for me to come to work. So I called yo cancel my reservations. I called to cancel and I could not find my itinerary #. So they told me that In order for me to get my non refundable deposit back is only if i went to the store and loaded $400 on a Google play card. Not knowing that this was fake I did what they asked of me. $100 two times and $200 the last time for a total of $400 . They kept telling me that my card was stuck in the server or I kept giving them the wrong #. Needless to say I never hot my money back and I have all of these receipts and nothing on the google play cards. So said because this was money that I was gonna take my kids on vacation with. So please beware !!!!!!!

We contacted Travelocity to book a hotel and flight combination. We had been quoted on a price on their website, and again on the phone the person on the phone proceeded to take our information and waited until the payment was ready to be processed to use the "bait and switch" and suddenly inform us that "tickets unfortunately went up in price" and our trip would now cost an extra $140. The only problem is that this was the 5th time we've attempted to book our reservations, through Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz and each time we got the same exact last minute change in price, even though the price quotes online haven't changed in a week, and remain the lower amount. This is clearly a scam, and should be addressed, after doing some research I discovered these organizations are all owned by Expedia now.

If you ask me this is a bait and switch scam to weasel an extra couple hundred dollars out of hardworking people who are already spending a fortune to go on vacation.

Consumer called in to BBB as he has been receiving calls from random numbers in the 916 716 range. To date he has had over 40 calls from this number range all claiming to be from Expedia. The caller always has a foreign (middle eastern) accent and wants to "verify information" as they have deals for him. When challenged they will disconnect the call.

Consumer has tried calling the numbers back and has had varying results from line being out of service, to speaking to a cell phone owner who has had their line cloned.

Numbers which have called in the last 2 days are - 916 716 6354, 916 716 1048, 916 716 6502 and 916 716 2043
