After my beloved dog passed away, my family and I talked about getting a new dog, which is how I found this seller. I got in contact with them through text, and they sent me pictures of their family to ensure me that they were real people. I sent them the full payment through Zelle before receiving the "puppy," but they asked for a $1000 insurance deposit for the travel. The email they sent looked incredibly suspicious, and when I called the phone number with which I had been in correspondence, a man who claimed to be the woman's husband picked up. He was very evasive, and when I asked to speak to the manager of the agency, I was redirected to a phone number from a state all the way across the country. They then told me that abandoning the puppy would lead to a fine of $12000 from law enforcement, after which I ended correspondence.
