This was a scam remote job posted on LinkdIen. I thought it was legit at first since they asked for a background check and did not hear from them until a month later. The email this individual, he went by the name of Dennis Shoemaker, sent seemed legit as well. I received a check in the mail and cashed it into the bank. It did not 'drop' until the next week but the day it was supposed to drop, the check was considered fictitious. This individual wanted me to do a charity run and buy clothes for a home society to test my honest and dedication, as he mentioned in the email he sent. I thought that was a nice gesture so I continued to do it. After that, he requested to send money orders to his "travel agency", which was a large amount. Currently in the process of trying to stop the mail carrier from delivering because it was not delivered the first time. The last task he asked me to do was Bitcoin. That was my last indicator that was a scam because what does an HR consulting group need to do with bitcoin. Please please please be careful with who you talk too about certain jobs. I feel so dumb about how far I came into this and it hasnt even been a full week yet. I feel so defeated and I would hate for someone else to go through this.
