Execranks Reports & Reviews (1)

- Phoenix, AZ, USA

I am normally a very cautious and conservative buyer. I check BBB, online reviews, etc. before I buy any products, appliances, etc. For some reason I was gullible re: this seemingly innovative and professional approach to getting connected with corporations which are looking for board members. Since boards are seeking more diversity these days, I thought the timing was right to make myself more visible. The professional website and good original phone interview with the company seemed to make *** a good opportunity. I have never been more scammed in my life. I might as well have posted a two paragraph resume as a life coach on ***. In fact, I probably had a better chance getting a response (at least from a network marketing company :) ) from ***! For a couple of hundred a month, I expected to have at least some minimal personal contact re: progress, suggestions, etc. and some interviews. The only 2-3 phone conversations I ever had were after I complained. During those calls, there were mainly promises of new formats, networking group offers (the group I was on had one conference call that was a waste of time), drastic reduction in the monthly rate if I would give them more time, etc.

I spent a lot of time on responding to probably almost a hundred "opportunities." I got no feedback re: their transfer of my information to any company or feedback re: ANY of my applications. The only "interview" I ever had was not even from the actual company, but an *** , who was supposedly representing the company! Again, no feedback and that "interview" did not even show up on my online profile.

Having been an executive for 30+ years and having an extensive background in human resources management, I do not expect to be guaranteed a job or a Board position. But for that price point, I expected a legitimate company providing real connections with corporations for paid Board opportunities (though the corporations listed are probably also been ripped off). I spent many hours reading through opportunities (many of which did not meet the criteria I had originally established), answering form questions, tailoring customized applications for specific companies. My activity screens today (i.e., You have no interviews scheduled and You have no past interviews) have not changed in 18 months. Now they have a new name and format (to try to avoid the Internet reviews & complaints associated with the old name?).

My resolution: 1) I have contacted the company and told them to immediately cancel my membership. 2) I want no future contact/solicitations from this company and 3)I am not even asking a full refund, but I want a refund of the $50/month since my last complaint to them (from Dec 2018 until this month).
