Go a text message from A W claiming to be a recruiter for Excelion. Claiming to have review my resume from Zip Recruiter for a Customer Service position for Excelion. Asked If I wanted to interview for the position through Zoom. Then received an for a Zoom call with R S . The asked for name, address, phone number. Then asked questions about the position. Offered $30 as the pay and $15 dollars paid while attending a 1 week training. They refused to share contact information or any US base evidence to show this was legit. Kept saying that as the process continues, they we'll provide additional information.

- West Orange, NJ, USA

They started the text with my full name, introduced himself as Alvin Spec, and thanked me for applying to Excelion. That was a red flag from the outset. Then followed a long, grammatically incorrect paragraph about how they found me in the Ziprecruiter database and they had an opening for a proofreader/copy editor. They told me I made the short list and that they wanted me to do an "online interview". No links were given, but I was to respond with "YES I AM," if I were interested.

I never submitted a resume to Excelion, I don't use Ziprecruiter at this time, and I hadn't applied for a proofreader job in months.

I searched for similar scams and found nothing. I Googled his name and nothing came up either, which made me even more suspicious. Then when I searched by his phone number I found this. I did respond, but I did not accept the invite nor give him any personal info.
