Received call from an Excel disconnection team, making a curtesy call before they disconnected my electric, for past 2 months of service. I stated that I am on auto pay. They asked if I had received a non payment letter in the mail, I said no. I asked how I can pay the balance now. They said I could go to the Excel office, which is closed until Monday. But they would still disconnect my service today. I said no, it is winter. They said that I could pay at any Casey's or Holiday gas station, but they only take cash. I asked how much, they said $412. I said no way, my monthly bill is never more than $100. There is no way and hung up. At this time I check my records and saw that my Oct bill was paid on Nov. 5th.

They called me back again from 605-776-4544, stating again that their person was 30 minutes away and was going to disconnect my electric, unless I paid the cash at Casey's (which was closest option to me).

Though I did not fall for their story, nor paid them anything. It sure caused me some anxiety for a bit.
