Last Thursday when I opened my email, there was a notice from Amazon (so I thought) that said my order for a Mac Book Pro for $1199.99 had been completed and was being sent to Charles ********* in San Antonio, Texas. Since this was an order I had not placed and for such a large amount, I continued reading the email and there was a phone number listed if I needed assistance with the order. Naturally, since I had not placed the order, I was concerned and called the number (866) 814-8114. The lady I talked with (Grace) sounded so sincere and told me she had cancelled my Amazon account and would need to deposit the money for the purchase into my checking account. She then told me she would have to transfer me to her supervisor. The name of the supervisor or name given was Jason Hanson. He said since the they had cancelled my Amazon account, I would need to provide information so the money could be deposited into my checking account. I asked him why they would need to make a deposit and not just credit it to my account and he repeated again that my account had been cancelled and no credit could be made to the account. After providing him with the requested information, some way Jason was able to show me on my computer screen my checking account information. He said his company was depositing $1200.00 into my account and asked me if I could see where the deposit was made. Instead of $1200.00, the screen showed a deposit of $6500.00. He became frantic saying his supervisor would be extremely upset with him for having made such a mistake and there had to be some way to get the funds transferred. Naturally I was concerned for him. He wanted to know if I had bank card I could use to transfer the funds and I did not. Then he wanted to know if there was a Sam's Club nearby where I could go and transfer funds from and there was not. Then he mentioned a Target store where I could go and transfer funds and the answer was no. He asked about other ways the funds could be transferred and all he mentioned were unavailable. Jason then said he would try and transfer $200 from my account using some transfer company he knew. He was typing information onto the computer which I could see and when I noticed the money would be transferred to a bank in India, I questioned him as to why he was not using Synchrony Bank, the bank associated with Amazon and he said that was the location where their money was deposited. This was the first thing that made me think something was not right. This was about 11:15 or 11:25 at this time. Then he told me to call him back when I went to lunch (12:00 noon) to see if the funds were transferring. Before I could go to lunch he had called back about five times which I did not answer. At lunch time I went to my bank and put a stop payment on the fund transfer. After returning to my office at 1:00 pm, Jason had called maybe 15 times while I was out. I had not taken my cell phone with me and he had also tried it.

While on the phone with Jason, I could hear others in the background talking to people, telling them the same thing Jason had told me about how they needed to transfer funds because of the mistake they had made. This is nothing but a rip off. I did not look at the email address of the document until after I had talked with Jason and noticed then that it was not from Amazon but was from [email protected].

He finally got me on the phone a little after I returned to work and I told him that his company was nothing but a fraud and I had put a stop payment on the transfer. I have received several notices from XE Money Transfer since then telling me that the transfer was not complete and that I needed to contact my bank to arrange a wire of bank transfer (Copy enclosed)
