On June 27, 2017, I was working on my computer when an alarm sounded and message screen popped up stating that Microsoft and Internet Explorer had errors and viruses and my computer was in danger. There was a phone number to call for support. I called the number and they person on the line, Sam. Stated that I would need to log into a website and at that time he took over my computer and manipulated my computer by putting a software on my computer. He stated that for 349.99 he could protect and monitor my computer for 5 years. I paid him the money with a scanned check. Then on Oct 31 he called me back. He stated that someone tried to change my email password within the last 10 days and ask if I had. I had not. He asked to have access and I keyed in a code and he had access. He then showed we multiple screens of errors and corruptions that were on my computer. He also informed me about safe and unsafe websites, making me feel like he really was trying to help. However, he and his software, malware, was the issue. He wanted me to pay 450.00 for life time protection this time. I hung up and disconnected my computer. He called me two days later and want to continue to discuss the issues. I told him I wanted a refund and he refused and hung up on me.
