I wrote this message to my bank on the event when it has happened, however they couldnt do anything about it. (07.02.2024) I registered to Etsy.com last night. I woke up to 6 different emails to get verified on etsy.com . I tried to look up how can I get verified but the main link that I got, I needed to verify my bank account and details to keep my Etsy account and be able to sell. Now I tried different times and I got a “chat support “ what from Etsy’s website they told me to follow up with the agent on the other site. So I did exactly as they told me but they started to verify my account first 176,85 euros x2 times and than a 469$ and again a 176,85€ once so of a total 4 payment of 1040.98 €. They were keep telling me its a normal security check and in couple of minutes will send me back the money, it is only on hold. I feel this is unacceptable especially it is coming somehow from Etsy support and internal email!!! Like we can not trust even 3rd party to be safe and be trusted with our data! I googled it as well if it’s a scam and google said Etsy do have a verification of a bank card that’s why I went further but since I got the charges more and more I started to google more and I found that this is a scam! Straight away I blocked the merchant on my account and froze my card however i never got my money back, I reported to Etsy, but they never got back to me, my bank couldnt do anything so now I am here making this file complaint so others can be warned... oh and ever since even etsy blocked my shop without a reason, after that I have invested in courses material, applications and a scam fraud because of their lack of data protection....total costs over 2500 euros...I tried to file a complaint even for this reason here for etsy, but the link is broken its not working.

for the scam fraud I can show screenshots and bank statements. The company name who charged my bank card so i think behind the scam is hellcase.com and CS.money i have been charged the amount from above from these two companies...who were pretending to be etsy support!!

The scammer identified himself as somebody from Etsy saying that my girlfriend's account was compromised because somebody tried to buy a diamond ring and he tried to help her fix it in essence scamming her

Called 1-855-269-6899 as website said it was Etsy customer service. Person stated they were Etsy, said they would help me get a refund on my order. They asked me to download “anydesk” in the App Store to help me. I questioned why I would need to do that, and they hung up. I think they wanted access to my phone, my contact and banking info.
