The phone number above is on my Eternal Water Heater. I heard the company might be out of business but I need it serviced so I dialed the 866 number. I immediately got a recording stating that I was a lucky winner of a $*** Walmart gift card, and that I should press 1. Instead I pressed 0 and was connected to a live person. She asked for my name but I didn't give it to her as this seemed like phishing. I asked if this was Eternal Water Heaters and she said it was but that the company was experiencing technical difficulties due to a high number of phone calls, therefore she was offering me a $*** gift card to either Walmart, Target, or some other store. I told her that I would not share my personal information, and that I needed to speak to Customer Service. Was there another number I could call? She said she would transfer me to the correct people IF I accepted the gift card. Again, I refused the gift card, so she would not transfer me. It didn't make sense to me anyway that she claimed that they were experiencing technical difficulties yet she was willing to transfer me. She then said I was free to disconnect the call. After some back and forth, I ended the call as I wasn't getting anywhere. My belief is that I was being phished for information, that I was never going to get a gift card nor was I going to be connected with anyone from Eternal. Some other scammer company must've purchased their old phone number.
