I was contacted by Susan Coleman - who said that she was the new HR Manager of Ericsson Company. She said that she saw my resume posted on Indiana career connect. They were looking for people willing to work at home while their new offices were being finished; The company is based in Sweden but was setting up offices all over the U.S. was told that I would work from home for 2 weeks before moving into the new office building. I was asked to set up a g-mail hangout / Google talk Messenger - and chat about the position with ([email protected]). I was told that I would receive a check to pay for the items that I would need to work; Printer / Scanner / Copier and the like. I received a FedEx package that originated from: Distribution Center MoneyGram International 205 Wilson Ave. Poteau, OK 74953 (billed third party) with a check in the amount of 3,985.00 from the Southern Drill Supply 1822 Blackbird Lane Pensacola FL 32534. The name of the bank on the check was Servis 1st Bank - 316 South Baylen St. suite 100 Pensacola Fla. 32502. Along with the check was a Xerox copy of instructions from Lana Bermudez - of the Payment Department - (201) 754-8176 // [email protected] she wanted me to get in touch with her once I got the check and purchased the item needed. I did not trust this process because they were asking me for my google password -- in order to get me a tracking number --- no one needs your password to get a tracking number to you; Also - all the different company names were a problem. There was no official documentation with the check and the document that was sent had no company letter head. Totally untrustworthy. I want people to be aware of this scam and hopefully we can stop them from trying to take advantage of people who are searching for a real job.
