Man posted in our neighborhood Facebook group claiming that he and his family just moved to the area, and is starting his own air duct cleaning company. Offered flat rate of $249 for homes less than 3,000sqft and requested scheduling through personal message. Upon messaging the poster, I was offered to schedule on Memorial Day (unusual) and asked to confirm a working cell number & home address. When I asked for confirmation of their licensing & insurance, my question went unacknowledged and instead received what read like an automated message about a “confirmation manager” reaching out via call or text “a few hours before the appointment” - I quickly received several repeat messages via text from a toll free number until I asked for a phone call. I was almost immediately called and did not get the impression the caller was a local representative. They confirmed the “local office address” and texted the link to their website listing certifications. All of these licenses were in a single technician’s name (who I could not verify, but appeared to live in another state) and supposedly relevant credentials for an entire company of several office locations across several states.

All in all, blocked the number, blocked the facebook profile, and can only hope my cell/address are not enough personal info to leverage further. Easy scam that I hope my Pittsburgh neighbors will keep an eye out to avoid.
