Type of a scam Phishing
My wife received a phone call from 855-508-3377, she didn't answer because she didn't know the number. They left a voicemail about federal student loan forgiveness and that she was eligible. She sent the voicemail and info to me and I called them. Right off the bat I knew it was a scam the way the phone rang and how they answered. So I decided to play along for a while. The first time I called I spoke to a lady who asked me a few questions.....Do I currently have federal student loans? I said yes. Am I currently paying on it? I said no, it is in forbearance. How much was i paying when i was paying on it? I said $280 a month. Then she asked how much i make before taxes? I lied and said i make $180,000 / year. At this point I stopped her and asked her what the name of the company was that she was with and there was a long pause and she hung up. I called back and got a new person this time. He preceded to ask me the same questions and i stopped him and asked what company he was with and he hung up immediately. I called back a third time and i was quite pissed off at this point because i am tired of scammers calling, so my tone of voice was much more intense this go round. It was a 3rd different person this time and i immediately called him out and told him he was a scammer and he preceded to say no i am not, i work for Enterprise Financial and i called him a liar and started to ask many questions like what is your website, where are you located and at this point he just hung up.
