I was looking for a small non-shedding dog and came across their website. The price seemed right and I decided to contact them. The offered a puppy for $500 and he told me he had 3 vouchers for free shipping that were available for first come first serve. I selected a puppy and he asked for payment. I told him that I would need to see a contract prior to paying anything. The payment was requested to be paid through Zelle which made me uncomfortable but I was sent a contract as requested which seemed legitimate and went ahead and paid. Then, I got a notice that the puppy was sent to the shipper and I would be hearing from them soon to make arrangements. I got a text with a tracking number and breathed a sigh of relief that the puppy was on it’s way. A few moments later I received a notice that the shipping company Exotic Cargo Lines USA has learned that my shipment required fully refundable insurance for my pet. I could pay on the amount of $700 that the courier would return 70% back to me at delivery or I could pay $1000 and the courier would return 100% to me at delivery. They told me that this was a requirement of the ipata. I went to the ipata website and I could not find any documentation of this. Additionally, there were multiple spelling and grammar errors that it just seemed weird. The Breeder who at first seemed to be on the up and up became very rude and told me that I shouldn’t worry about what I read on the internet. He told me that he did not need to debate with me or explain English to me and I would not see a dime of my money back (shocker). I was romanced by pictures of very tiny cute dogs. I made a poor decision. I got scammed. I hope I help someone avoid the same!
