I applied to a job on Indeed that seemed real and nowhere in the job posting did it say I was applying to a staffing agency. Usually staffing agencies fill the job postings notifying the job seeker that they are sending their information to a 3rd party. This was nowhere in the posting. It looks legit besides the posting no having an address on it which is normal. I submitted my application and a few days later, I received a text message telling me I can call back to set up an interview. It was then I realized i applied for a job agency, giving them the benefit, i assumed i had applied for a position inside there building, not using their service. I thought this based on the wording of the text message and the job posting. I followed the instructions they provided in the text message and I went on the interview. The building looks like a staffing agency but also empty. I filled out the employee application assuming it was for the building I was in, not for their staffing service. Had to fill in my social security, email and phone number again and 1 reference; who they called as I was speaking to Tanya. It wasn't till someone else walked in stating they were there for an interview at the same time I was scheduled that I realized something was off. I was called in and spoke to Tanya, her immediately confirming my information and typing stuff on her computer. As we were talking, it wasn't till I asked that the job I applied for was for this building and she said no. And I asked the job posting had nowhere written it was an agency and she said we do fake job listings so potential job seekers come to the agency and not straight to the employers because they; Expresspro, wouldn't make money if people went straight to the employers website. I understand business but that's pure deception. I was basically lured there under false pretenses. I was told I had entry level skills and I wasn't able to apply to the job I was there for. She ended up signing me up for their staffing agency and told me there are no jobs that I can apply to with my experience. These people have my social security number, all of my information and my peace of mind is not in a good headspace. This place needs to be researched and looked at. I ended up wasting my time, gas and giving away my information to strangers and probably will not even hear from them.
